Newham Hospital is much improved, says CQC

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has announced that the care provided at Newham Hospital is much improved, with more than a third of services now rated as good. Following an inspection in November 2016 inspectors have acknowledged ‘substantial evidence’ of continual improvements to services, and significant progress has been made in a number of areas compared to an inspection in May 2015.

'Superhero' children celebrate their inner strengths

Acknowledging that real heroes don't always wear capes, a children's hospital has launched a Health Hero Training Academy which incorporates therapeutic play, drama, games and psychological therapy to celebrate the strength and abilities of its young patients.

Turning to Facebook to recruit nurses

Whipps Cross Hospital has turned to Facebook to hire the country's top nurses. Barts Health NHS Trust is using the site to promote recruitment, encouraging nurses to come to an open day for prospective staff being held at the hospital on Saturday, 8 April 2017.
